HOPE Africa is a Rotary Club of Macquarie Park initiative, and we are very proud to be working in close partnership with indigo foundation. We have absolute confidence that this great collaboration will allow us to deliver on a vision that focuses firmly on youth activities and community welfare.
The project aims to raise funds to build a not-for-profit youth centre, dedicated to providing social, educational and recreational services to the marginalized community of Otjiwarongo in Namibia. We envisage the construction of a library and study area in which students of all levels will have the opportunity to deepen the knowledge acquired at school as well as utilise computer facilities. Of equal importance, it will offer sporting fields as well as facilities including change rooms with showers and toilets.
This facility will enable the community in the informal settlement, especially the youth, to organise sporting activities that will not only contribute to their development but also help them productively utilise the time that they might otherwise spending roaming the streets. As Namibia continues to embrace its rich cultural heritages, we aim to include a community meeting place along with an amphitheatre which would offer opportunities to host cultural events and performances.
All donations are fully tax deductible (for Australian residents) and a tax invoice will be issued by our project partner, indigo foundation. We are very grateful for all of the corporate and individual support of our HOPE Africa Gala Dinner, and thank you in advance if you would also like to make a donation.
